
Meetings with Ganga Mira
Ganga Mira continues to give satsang in Portugal
Ganga Mira gives satsang all year round in Portugal. Usually the meetings happen two times a week and take place in a private house south of Aljezur in the western Algarve.
There is no community, no sangha, no ashram around Ganga Mira. If you would like to attend her meetings you are responsible for your own arrangements regarding travel and accomodation. The satsangs in Portugal are usually in English.

Aljezur
Aljezur is a small holiday town close to the westcoast in the Algarve. In Aljezur, you can find a wide selection of accomodation, ranging from simple hostels to hotels and holiday homes. You can find most amenities here: restaurants, supermarkets, general stores, a market hall, a weekly farmers´ market, banks, post office, ATMs (Multibanco), pharmacy, doctors (Centro de Saúde) and petrol stations. Please see also our link page. The closest bigger town is Lagos (20 km).
SIM cards for mobile phones are available in Aljezur in the post office and the newsagent or at the airports and in many places in Lagos. Most cafés and restaurants offer a free Wi-Fi service.
Transportation
Public transport is very limited. Therefore, it is better to rent a car if you can. There are rental companies at Faro and Lisbon airports, in Portimão and in Lagos. There is no car rental in Aljezur, but you can rent bicycles and scooters.
The closest airport is Faro, which is 1 h 15 m away. There are buses and trains from Faro to Lagos. Another option is the shuttle services, which run from the airport to Lagos at reasonable prices (please look it up online). From Lisbon international airport you can take a bus to Aljezur or Lagos or a train to Lagos. Lisbon is 3 h 30 m away.
There is a local bus service (www.eva-bus.com) from Lagos to Aljezur. It does not run frequently and does not operate at all on weekends and holidays. Be aware of dangers at the beach
The Atlantic Ocean on the west coast of Portugal is wild and very dangerous, swimming is not possible. There are big waves, rip tides and very strong under currents which take you out without being able to swim against them.There are drownings every year. It is strongly advised to bathe only up to tigh level. If you would like to swim you need to go to the South coast.
Weather, clothes
Please bring protection against the strong sunshine, fresh winds and cold evenings even in the summer (hat, jacket, sweater, shawl).
